Now that’s more like it! Of course, pictures are a visual medium. All good artists will usually need some references to know what they’re drawing and look back to in order to keep things on model. They might be able to look these references up themselves, but you can help save them some time and make it easier for them to know how you want your picture to look if you can provide some references yourself. You are on the internet after all, so there’s a treasure trove of images you can find. Try and use official art of your character, and use an image that provides the as much of the body and the proper color scheme. Now let’s give that description again, but this time include some references with your message, this time with references to what the character looks like, how the character should be posed, and references for extra details like certain clothing.

Hello class, and welcome to the Commission Master Class. Today we’re here to learn how to make a commission request properly. What I just showed you above is actually a perfect example of what NOT to do. We’re going to break down what went wrong with the above request and turn it into an example of how to do things right! So with that, let’s get started!

1. First off, the tone is awfully rude! There was no greeting and they just jumped right into the request. Personally, I always like to start my requests off with a simple greeting and some well wishes for the artist.

1. The character request is very vague! The artist was not given any names nor the show they’re from and not even any reference material! Be clear about who these characters are and where they’re from. I recommend always linking to a wiki page for the character if it exists. Wiki pages generally have lots of reference pictures the artist can review as well as all the relevant information about a character! If your request is for an OC, try to have a character reference sheet available.

1. The idea itself is also vague and again, no reference pictures! Try to explain in detail what you’re looking for and always give at least one, if not multiple reference pictures or poses. These can be other drawings, real life photos, or maybe even a rough sketch you drew yourself!

1. Don’t ever offer to pay an artist in ‘exposure’ or anything else aside from the terms the artist sets themselves. And don’t try to negotiate for a lower price either. If you’re not able to afford an artist’s price, then you’re just going to have to find another artist within your price range or save up some money.

1. If you need something done by a certain date, please prepare accordingly and give the artist as much time as possible. Asking for a drawing to be done the next day is almost never going to happen! Every artist has different timeframes, so just send your request in as soon as possible. And be prepared if they say no to the timeline! Don’t get angry and just accept it won’t be able to work.

Ok, I think we’ve broken down everything major that went wrong with that request. So how do we take what we’ve learned and turn this into a proper request? I’m glad you asked! Allow me to show you how a proper commission request is formatted:

Hello Reit, hope you are doing well today! I had a commission idea I was hoping you could help with. This request will be for a fully shaded/full body piece featuring two characters from the anime Isekai Maou; Rem (https://isekai-maou.fandom.com/wiki/Rem_Galleu) and Shera (https://isekai-maou.fandom.com/wiki/Shera_L._Greenwood).

For the scene, I’d like to see Rem on her hands and knees getting fucked doggystyle by an anonymous man while Shera kneels in front of her, kissing her. Everybody would be completely naked and the background would be a generic bedroom. Here are a couple reference pictures to give you an idea of what I’m looking for:

Y lo responderé muy buena pregunta así que le diré el por qué es buena mi comisión con los siguientes puntos: 

1.- Mi idea es usar una mujer de Disney un poco olvidada la hermosa Jane de Tarzan.

2.- Tengo tres ideas base que usar:

   a.- usando la temática del Día del padre podría ser Jane siendo follada por kerchak (o como se escriba) el papá adoptivo de Tarzan.

   b.- ser un trío entre Tarzan y otros dos gorilas contra Jane.

   c.- Clayton violando a Jane tras encarcelar a Tarzan en una jaula ya sea solo el o con sus secuaces.

3.- Jane casi no es muy usada y en lo que se usa no tiene la gram calidad que usted le pone a su arte.

Bajo estas ideas podemos llamar la atención de varios grupos de personas en el vasto internet.

Podría ser alguna de estas opciones ya usted me dirá cuánto costaría cada escenario y cual le facilitaría según sus horarios y sus gustos por qué entiendo que usted es un profesional y lleva una gran comunidad fiel a su arte.

Con esto espero su respuesta y a dado caso que acepte esta propuesta profundizaremos en concepto y poses.

Hablando del presupuesto no se preocupe llevo ahorrando para este proyecto que llevo en mente.
